A dense micro forest could be planted at the entrances to The Bishop. The closely planted trees help fight climate change, promote biodiversity, absorb carbon, and cool the museum and city. It would be an always available outdoor exhibit of The Bishop and showcase the environmental leadership of the Museum.
A sign with a QR Code would enable people to read about the microforest on their cell phone. An interesting tree could be the focal point and named The Bishop. Appropriate trees include oak or the State tree of Florida, the Sabal Palmetto, which grows easily and has many uses, including food, medicine, and landscaping.

A mix of trees including citrus would make it a food forest. The University of Florida has one of the best landscape architectural programs in the country and they can be asked to design the microforest as a student project. Bishop staff and members can help plan the forest and volunteer to buy and plant the trees.
We will be glad to help The Bishop as a volunteers to explore this opportunity.
